I can't imagine the dry hot weather I hear y'all have been experiencing. It's been far too long since I was baked, out here everything mostly boils with the humidity. We're told that this past June hit record highs in the state of GA. I've been doing fairly well, as for Elder Sorensen he hates it.
While teaching a lesson to Sister Barton, she told us that really the worst natural disasters that happen in GA are the thunderstorms because they make trees fall, and floods come. And As a matter of fact, there was a huge thunderstorm that came just days after meeting with her. The rain and lightning was so cool.
At the time we were out on splits and while we were gone the strong winds knocked a tree that was right next to our house. Mitchell Dunham, a priest in the ward was at our house mowing our lawn when that tree fell down. He was five feet away from it. Kayla was in the house and said that the wind was blowing in the direction of the house, so that tree should have fallen on top of the house. How it fell though was almost as if someone ripped it out and then placed it several feet away from where it should have fallen. And where the tree fell was also five feet away from our car! WHAT A 3 STRIKE 3 SAVED MIRACLE!
All kind of a mystery right now, but as for me something tells me that Heavenly a father definitely knows where he wants his trees to fall.
There's definitely several other spiritual topics that can come from that experience.
Yesterday, Elder Sorensen and myself both spoke in Sacrament Meeting. Our topics were on Service and scriptures. I haven't given a talk in church since last November, and so it was a little nerve racking, but going up to the pulpit i felt like a zone leader again giving a training. I also felt like it was my farewell talk to the ward.
Transfers are next week and errbody keeps sayin I'm getting kicked out. I think change would be good for the last three months.
In other news, Kayla is pregnant! Susan is doing good, Kirsten is alright, the Julian family is alright, the Addisons are fine, and Jesse Robinson a 17 year old who we are working toward being baptized is good too.
Hope you have a great week,
Love,
Elder black
