It's really good to hear from everyone, if it hadn't been for the postage system as well as a Black missionary who could just give the correct address out online then maybe tons of mail wouldn't have just come in this past week... ya my bad.
Again what a thrill to hear from all y'all, I pray that y'all are doin' well as the school year comes close to an end. Spring is beautiful out here, so nice and not too humid (yet). This past week we had some definite good days.
The Triumphs//
- Last Tuesday I got to see old companion Elder Johnston, wow did that make my year. We reminisced lots of the days in Winder, so so good!
- Yesterday at church we were able to get 4 investigators at church! That's more than I've ever been able to accomplish while on the mission. Ricky came for the first time to church, he came in shorts and a T-shirt, so fine I'll take it! He definitely stood out, but members really helped him feel support. He liked it, and is coming next week to Stake Conference. :)
- We got to assist in a food drive that the Bishop's daughter took lead in. We went out last P-Day and put out about 3,000 bags on the doorsteps of homes for people to put canned and boxed foods in. Saturday we did the pick up and ended up collecting 5,000 lbs of food! That's a lot of people fed, and an amazing miracle that can happen because of the help of just a couple of hands and bodies.
- There's stress that comes from overworking, and it can be hard at times to actually have fun with the guy who's tied right next to you 24/7, yet the outlooks when it will be a girl are much better...
- The multiple dreams of coming home and wondering "why the freak am I home? I still need to go and teach Ricky and Kayla, what's happening? I guess I'll bring my dad for a team up..." and "I need to go knock ten more doors! where an earth is Elder Hoyt? where's my companion??" Hoping this isn't something that will continue to affect my young 20's!
In the end, if there's anything that I've learned on the mission besides it's takes lots of patience, love, self-motivation and joy, and grace and all those other principles. Our attitudes definitely determine our course for the day and week. Relying on the grace of someone who knows how you feel, He's felt the same way. Though things may not always go the way we want them to, that's all part of the journey. It's great to know that we have the words of God, and the ability to communicate with Him.
Tip from Adam: I know that the gospel of Christ is true, share the word and remember your purpose. :)
Y'all have a good week,
love you bye
