Hey Home,
Wow, there has been so much that happened in the past week. Just returned from a trip to Helen, GA this pday. If you've ever been or heard of it, it's a German-styled smalltown. Lots of schnitzel. A tourists site, and location for OKTOBER FEST (just another fancy name for that great and spacious building you get drunk in during the evenings). Definitely no drinking when we're here, except for the many old and retired farmers. Today itself has felt like a week, and in writing late hurrying to get in what I can before it's back to work.
If there could ever be a quick getaway from the busy life, even the very busy mission life, and a time to turn to God, today was that getaway. Taking a hike to venture and see the Anna Ruby Falls. One in nature, and coming one with God, having so many flashbacks to Utah, missing those mountains yet what a site Georgia still keeps. After chasing falls, we explored through the small town, had lunch and now with travels taken, memories were made with missionaries. Today itself was a really good day, and I highly recommend that when time permits, take a chance to Helen.
Our Assistants are really great people and missionaries. That Elder Smith and Elder Coleman have taught me so much since they became Assistants, and most of it has been through example. The past exchange with them this week helped me increase in learning more on leadership, self-motivation, and love. And how we take those principles and make missionaries have the greatest experience out of their mission.
All is well, and here's a poem before I go.
"Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place,
and suddenly it hit.
In this state of Grace, away in a grove,
coming more connected, the dots assemble
like the stars in heaven,
we remembe we are Blessed,
We have been given
much more to freely give.
Now come to understand
building upon the person I am
Those whispers that keep me awake.
Race home, yet it no longer feels like a constant,
but a steady walk to remember.
Moving at the pace of stimulation."
Love you,
your son and bro,
elder adam black
