I've heard it recently put that there's always that, "what will it really be like?" and then the inevitable, "what have I gotten myself in to?!" And finally, "I'm here, I better just make the best of it." The mission is exactly that. You don't know what it's gonna be like, the people, the culture, the mission lifestyle, you don't know what you've really gotten yourself into until you're there and then you just try to make the best of it.
There's a real big push in my mind that says I need to be perfect or else the world will explode and tiny pieces of ash will burn my eyes. Well it was mentioned Easter Sunday in a talk by a returned sister missionary that we don't need to be perfect. Someone already did that job, and that someone was Jesus Christ.
I love knowing that!
I hate that I can forget it easily!
I recently learned from Jesus the Christ by James Talmage (love) that the name Jesus came into English from Middle English and is the adaptation of the Latin word Iesus, which was adapted from Greek Iesous also adapted form the Hebrew/Aramaic word Yeshua or Yehoshua. Joshua was the earlier root derived from Jah or Javeh meaning that "Jehovah is Salvation". Basically the common Greek name Jesus, was the form of the Hebrew name Joshua. I think of it, and I don't know if I've presented it clearly, but it would be like my name Adam in the Spanish language pronounced "Atham", different pronunciation, same name. Again I'm no scholar yet, but here it goes. The word Christ (Middle English) Christus (Latin) and Christos (Greek) all mean the same thing and that is "The Anointed". Hence, Jesus, The Anointed, then is his title. And I think that once our understanding of his title(s) increase so will our love, appreciation, and desire to share the gospel with others.
We shared the gospel this week with some very fine folk, some listened some said come back another day, and some said they were not interested at all.
Wanna also say that my quads are gettin' yoked, taking it literally that "he will take His yoke upon you". Ha. These are the blessings from riding a bike, and be happy to hear that no bike incidents this week. The members here are fantastic! They've hooked me up now with multiple lights for my bike so I will not get hit. Such a sick and loving joke. Plus this week no problems with dogs either. (If anyone would like to send me a dog whistle for Christmas that would be pretty cool, (hint, hint)
Soon in three weeks time I will be done with training! Hooray!! Just kidding it isn't that bad, but it is definitely a challenge.
Hope y'all were able to see the vid Because of Him. I thought that was pretty neat, but then I also thought they could have done several things different to make it better, but that is just one video/photographers point of view. :)
Looks like I'm headed out to eat Panda today! Huzzaah! Y'all take care and have a brilliant week :)
Love,
