Good afternoon! This morning we got my bike all fixed and tuned (this was in fact the first time I've taken that bike to a shop). Got a broken tire valve, and this shop was able to replace and fix it all at a minimum price! High five everybody!! The guy fixing it even asked who was last to tune the bike and I said missionaries... haha!
Well now everything is all good and I am hoping and praying for a week of continued blessings. Tonight our schedule is filled with appointments and it is great:) we got a dinner appointment with a member at 5:30, haircut/lesson with Connie {our top investigator} at 6, and then FHE with a member family at 7, then we are teaming up with a member and ending with a less active, appointment at 8.
So far so good P-day I'd say!
I think last week was long, but looking back I can see the positives and it was good. You know besides the jail incident [we asked - only got this reply: we had issues with a cop, and another elder went to jail for not even a day. Tell you more on Monday, sorry!!], I really enjoyed the trainer meeting, and I learned a lot on how to improve as a trainer and as an individual. Since Elder Kopischke, I've begun to ask questions more and came to the meeting with a few questions and sure enough the spirit helped answer them. Training can be difficult, but for my first time I look at it and I look at what I've been through and I believe I'm doing alright and that really, God knows what He is doing with me and Elder Meloni and I'm willing to submit to all that He asks of me and He will definitely provide the way. Plus charity and patience have helped me see how I can really learn so much from Elder Meloni as well as other people that I meet and mingle with daily.
During an exchange after the trainer meeting, it was Elder Barnett and myself in Shallowford! We totally tracted for 5 hours and wow did my feet ache after that. (this was before I got my bike fixed). It was good, and Elder Barnett is a great missionary. He's totally lovable. And it is great to be able to work with other missionaries every so often to learn and grow.
Yesterday before church during Ward Council, Elder Vandertoolen and I went on splits. Elder Vandertoolen is a great guy, and his heart is fully in the work and while tracting with him we were able to bless a man's home and talk with him his previous experiences and how he came to find Jesus. "Errrbody needs Jesus," and I learned from him as well a few new techniques. Felt like I was with Elder Hoyt for a while who I freakin' miss and I wonder how he is doin'. Anybody heard anything from Shane Hoyt?
I can't believe transfers are in a week. I wish that some missionaries didn't let titles get to their heads, I mean that's kinda why the Nephites kept rising and falling? Ha, but I should only speak for myself. Sometimes I let the title trainer get to my head, and sometimes I let the title missionary get to my head. I'm grateful to know that by learning more of Jesus Christ and our relationship with Heavenly Father, I'm able to overcome any weakness and any mountain.
In the end, with authority comes responsibility. Practice really does make perfect. Patience is key. And virtue is power. Thanks for the prayers and love, y'all are spiffy and y'all make my Mission.
Hope yall have a great week!
(I'll tell ya when the pollen really comes in)
Lots of love,
ELDER BLACK
