Avery, I was beyond excited to receive a letter from you! It made my day and it was awesome to read about your life from this past month.
Congrats on receiving your YW Personal Progress Medallion! That is amazing, and so neat to see you becoming a true sister of Zion. Our Father in Heaven has quite the plan for both of us and as we stay obedient and humble in our works he will reward us with treasures beyond this earthly state.
I can't wait to hear you sing, and I do wish I could have come heard you at the Choir Concert. Hopefully I can when I get back and you'll be a senior, CRAZY!!! And that is crazy you're going to dances!
That quote you sent me that you got from seminary - I LOVE IT! 2 Nephi 4 is one of my favorite scriptures I've ever read. Let me share one of my favorite parts to add to Elder Hansen's words in v. 34, "O Lord, I have trusted thee, and I will trust in thee forever..." We all make mistakes and we all sin, it's only because we're human, but when we trust in the Lord with all our heart, mind and might we are able to stay on the straight and narrow and we are able to see miracles happen. I know this to be true because I've seen miracles come from actually being a missionary and sharing and helping people. It's fantastic, and I know as you yourself continue to progress in seminary and as your own missionary to your friends you'll see the same miracles emerge.
So good to hear you're finally done with Lagoon - Hallelujah! JK :) I will miss the cotton candy you brought home. Oh, and don't worry about not going out on photoshoots, I'm sure we'll get plenty more opportunities in 23 months. ;-) Continue to stay musical and tell T, thank you so much for everything and that I'm staying, "alive, awake, alert, enthusiastic!!!!"
Please give my address to anyone who asks! [See top of this page]! Stay golden, stay beautiful (T-Swift) and please stay warm!! It's starting to get chilly here, but no snow will probably come this winter. (Yay!)
Much love,
Elder Black
