Elmo.
Kermit the Frog.
Mickey Mouse.
Some Smoker from Brooklyn.
The Joker.
Batman.
Pain and Panic from Hercules.
British People.
and several other characters from my childhood's past.
These are only some the voice impersonations that my new companion Elder Kelly can make. You should be jealous. Hahahaha.
Elder Kelly is great. Just fantastic. Ha! This Washington guy is quite the joker and has an incredible talent at telling hilariously funny stories, I haven't laughed so hard in a while.
This new area is def most def tricky. Think about looking for only elect investigators, people who are searching for truth... now think about it with only the age group of 18-30 year olds. HAHA. Actually thinking about it now, we will probably find much more success. The snobs in Cobb County, Marietta were not open to religion. Young folk, i'm told, are in search of new things and so I would say the Lord is on our side. When I got here there were no maps, no real investigators, and no real knowledge of members or even what to do. So I would say that we are kinda white washing this area, something that I have now become accustomed to... so these past few days we are working pretty effectively and are starting to get the work really moving in the Mountain Park YSA Branch.
These young single adults are actually like... my age! LIKE WHAT THE FREAK? But I really enjoy them, and I like the chemistry in the room. And I really say that cause there is some chemistry goin' on between some of these brethren and sisteren in the room ;) It's cute, but what really is cute is that I am now the baby. Whoopideedoodah!
It's cool cause most of them all like the mission work, a lot of them are RM or even about to go on missions, and they're feedin' us every night for the next two weeks, and they all like that I'm brown :)
So I would like things to work out smoothly in this area. And thus far I've come to know that it's God that helps make that happen, so with this new transfer I myself have some pretty high goals in mind to help improve myself as a missionary. I want to continue to strive for exact obedience, diligence, I want to build my faith and continue to increase my gospel knowledge. I also want to work on patience, and charity towards my companions, and other people I work with. I want to make this Branch a missionary Branch and I want to help people on their paths towards baptism and receiving eternal joy.
"...your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."
My district is in the "Lawrenceville Bubble"(nickname that the sisters came up with). I am again in command, but I don't want to be seen as the guy who is here to get people out to work. I want to be a friend, but a leader. Again, I'm trusting in God on this one and really shooting to rely on His Spirit to guide me.
Prayers be out to you, and peace be with you this week and always. I love you guys to Kolob and back.
That's all folks! - imagine Elder Kelly impersonating Porky Pig :)
