Holy cow, this week was intense, I do not like having to drop potential investigators that you know felt the spirit with us, the weather is yellow and the heat is coming, and I think someone may be out to get me.
Now I only say that last part because when we went out last Thursday to follow up with a girl we are teaching we were riding our bikes when a lady in a mini van hit me with her car. Lame right? If I'm goin' down in this mission I would like God to do it with some class. Ha, just kidding. And I really shouldn't say hit because while she was making a right hand turn, she did not check the side walk and did not see me and Elder Meloni coming up and in the end bumped me as we rode by.
I am fine:) I am perfectly okay, no broken bones, bruises, scratches, or anything. The only fracture was my bike's front wheel, which now is slightly bent... so I'm off to the bike shop again today! :P Oh and a dog bit my shoe last week, so yes someone is out to get me!
I've always known that there is a opposition in all things. So I figure I must be doing something right out here in the South if cars and people are trying to stop and distract me.
Again, everything is yellow and green, if you could take the cheese off of a Cool Ranch Dorito chip and spread it all over your car it would look only half as bad as the cars look down here right now. I'll try to take some pics and maybe send those home. Pollen is just everywhere, and it gets all over our clothes, bikes, hair, ears, eyes, and nose. I've had no reactions to it, at least right now. And there isn't any stopping it, so I figure just grin and bear it til it passes. It's the heat that is so different than out west and so weird to start to experience, today though is nice for a Pday with overcast skies.
Training is going alright, having the responsibility of being constantly obedient can definitely be hard. No denying it, but it's when you realize the "why" of doing it that it makes sense. I think Abraham had a good understanding of it.
It can be a struggle at times to train, to work, to be a missionary, to be obedient, to have faith, to do what is right. Elder Meloni is probably sick of training, I'm just goin' on a wing and a prayer for my first time training but this kid is stellar, he is so good at communicating and teaching.
We met a nice Jehovah Witness who gave us a copy of the New World Translation of the Bible. It was weird cause I got a feel of how everyone else must feel when we give them books of Mormon and pamphlets. Haha, so funny.
Heard about Ukraine, scary stuff but I dreamt about fighting zombies during the zombie apocalypse. Is this prophecy? In the dream though I was still on the mish, so I hope not.
This week I pray won't be too difficult, and I pray that God will show us a miracle. Stay golden, and God bless America. Happy Easter!
love, Elder Black
