A fickle of feelings run with me today, along with the misty forecast. It's currently 53 degrees. The rain and overcast cover us here in the city of Winder. It fits my fancy, very hipster, truly grandiose, and a jolly good time to stay indoors. Later we're headed to the Commerce Outlets. Gotta use those coupons!
While out this week, we were able to meet with Debbie, we talked about The Word of Wisdom (while on exchange with Elder Larsen). She comes to find smoking is easier to quit when nobody is telling her to quit. Haha, she is a great lady, she's coming along quite nicely. She was also able to make it to The Bennion Project last Saturday at the D'Angelo's home. And she even made it to church this past week. How Sweet! We're very exctied. Another good thing happened while following up with a potential investigator, Elder Larsen and I ran into a girl named Katie. Katie previously met missionaries months back, moved though and lost contact with them. We were able to meet with her Thursday, reviewed what she knew then went over some of her concerns about prophets and Joseph Smith, she felt the spirit and would like to continue to meet with us. How spectacular! And then while on exchange with Elder Rees, we ran into a couple of potential investigators. An other people who met with missionaries months back. What a de ja vu for me. Later on we got to talking and discussed much of what could be done to help the missionaries in the Ft. Yargo District. Seems like there is a funky at times even trunky spirit that lingers here. We were able to find ways to overcome those obstacles, and we're seeing improvement from this past week. Elder Johnston and I will continue to support these friends. Their ward is also going to work and try the Bennion Project. All in all, grace for grace, things are shaping into great pieces.
Taking the challenge to share the discoveries of priceless gems throughout the scriptures and words of God (something that I'm finding to help motivate myself throughout the week). Uttering the words of wisdom that came from scripture studies this past week,
"Grace for grace" John 1:16
What does that mean to you? To me, it's giving everything you have to God, because God has given all he has for you. It also makes me think of how we as sons and daughters can give grace or strength to others, to our investigators, companions, members and even our families back home. It's that triangle of God, you and me kinda deal. Working together in a homogeneous relationship, and seeing good fruits come forth from it. How cornucopias.
The umbrella of God has done us miracles this past week. Our adventure was tremendous. After a good Zone Meeting, only the miracles of God could have helped bring an increase of finding miracles and member missionary work. In our ward alone, the Winder Elders and us received much support from members. Our zone is now well on their way to further consecrating ourselves. Understanding grace, I think plays a ginormous role for that process. Coming to realize that I'm a 20 year old young man, just a young guy out on an LDS mission. With much self reflection, taking myself out of the mission box, I've come to see again that Adam Black has been changed because of His Grace. His help, his guidance and light, the experiences-some too great for words to describe, all of that He is has changed me.
Wishing you a happy 3rd week in November!
Peace and Blessings.
