I don't know if that quote made any sense as it does right now with me making it up as something catchy to first read, but if not Happy Martin Luther King Day! I didn't even know it was a holiday til I checked the mail, today's gonna be goood!
So this past week seems an awfully lot like a blur, it moved so fast and many experiences took place. I guess I'll start with just the major highlights hoping not to sound too diatribic:
I was assigned to give a training in District Meeting on "How to Help People Make and Keep Commitments", and you know I thought it went good seeing that it was something challenging because my experience and knowledge in the title itself was rather diminutive. But my testimony of the power of prayer has increased, as I really exercised faith in Christ knowing that he would help guide the training and that the Spirit would be able to testify to my fellow missionaries about the significance of extending commitments. I learned something too in that training, so I guess it worked! :) Anyway, our district consists of 8 missionaries, that's 4 companionships (well 4 and 1 extra if you include the Holy Ghost, and I guess 2 more if you add the Zone Leaders).
"As your understanding of the Atonement of Jesus Christ grows,
your desire to share the gospel will increase" promise! :)
And while out walking and visiting some LA (less active members), we came across a family of 4 who had a huge Budget Moving truck. When we went up to them we offered our services, gave them a card with our number and about 30 minutes later we got a call asking for help. We were able, and by we, I mean 3 of us, move everything out of their truck into their house. I swear God's angels helped us, cause I know for sure I couldn't lift and move a fridge, washer, dryer, and china cabinet up and down two flights of stairs, well maybe, I do work out. ;-) But it was cool to see again how God is continuing to prepare people, for I do not believe in coincidences. These people came here, and we crossed their path, all in a day's work with the Lord.
Wow I cannot believe Avery will have the crib to herself! :-0 Tell her at least no alcohol at the parties she's going to throw! ;) I will for sure pray for her, and for you guys as you travel. hope you have a thrill! [Avery stayed home alone while we took a Caribbean trip with some friends.]
You mentioned that the stake is going to be the first to test the new curriculum? That is so freaking amazing! I'm a little jelly. Something I really liked about the previous ward I served in and our home ward is the Gospel Principles teacher. They had charisma, and character. The one in this ward, he seems like a good guy, but I find myself wondering when things will get interesting. I've come to love the deep doctrine. But anyway, again that is way cool that the church is finally updating on the teaching. Please update me on how that goes.
To answer your question, I couldn't drive because I don't know why :-/ sorry. But I did get a tiwi card, the day before I left Soci. (Isn't that always the case?) [Still not sure what that is.]
Well out of time, got a haircut today, and I think our first exchange will happen this coming week. wish me luck!
